Nextglo (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates nextglo.com (the “Site”), an online shop for electronics and home appliances. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal data when you visit our Site, create an account, or purchase our products, and describes your rights under Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).By using our Site, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Site.

Nextglo is operated in Ghana, with its principal place of business at Home Made Junction UPSA Madina New Road, Accra Ghana. We are the “data controller” responsible for your personal data under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).

  • Identity & contact data – Full name, email address, phone number, and delivery/billing address. Collected when you create an account, check out as a guest, or contact support.
  • Order & transaction data – Products purchased, order history, order value, and returns/warranty claims. Collected when you place an order or request a return.
  • Payment data – Card type, last 4 digits, billing address, and mobile money number. Full card or account numbers are processed and stored by our payment processor, not by us. Collected at checkout, via our payment processor.
  • Account data – Username, password (encrypted), and account preferences. Collected when you register an account.
  • Marketing preferences – Newsletter opt-in status and communication preferences. Collected when you subscribe or update preferences.
  • Technical & usage data – IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and cookies/analytics identifiers. Collected automatically, via cookies and similar technologies.
  • We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data (e.g., health, biometric, or financial account data beyond what’s needed for payment) unless you voluntarily provide it, for example in a support request.

3. How We Use Your Information

We process your personal data for the following purposes and legal bases:

  • To fulfil orders – process payments, arrange delivery, handle returns/warranty claims (necessary to perform our contract with you).
  • To manage your account – authentication, order history, saved addresses (contractual necessity).

  • Order & transaction records – typically 6 years, to meet Ghanaian tax and accounting obligations.

  • Support/warranty records – for the duration of the applicable product warranty period, plus a reasonable retention period after.

7. Your Rights

Under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), you have the right to:

  • Access – request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction – ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Object/restrict – object to or restrict certain processing, including direct marketing.
  • Withdraw consent – withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent (e.g., newsletter subscription), without affecting past processing.
  • Deletion – request deletion of your data, subject to our legal retention obligations (e.g., tax records).
  • Complain – lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission of Ghana if you believe your data has been mishandled.

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted payment processing (we do not store full card numbers), access controls, secure servers, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children’s Privacy

Our Site is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us so we can delete it.
